18 new COVID-19 cases and 19 resolved in the Thunder Bay area

THUNDER BAY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay district fell to 134 on Wednesday, one fewer than on Tuesday.

The district health unit also reported the number of patients receiving treatment in hospital has fallen from three to two.

Eighteen new cases were confirmed over the preceding 24 hours, including eight that resulted from household contact and seven by other close contact.

All the new cases involve residents of the city or the immediate surrounding area.

Nineteen previously diagnosed cases were resolved since Tuesday.

In Ontario, 1,009 new cases were reported Wednesday, an increase from 928 on Tuesday.
