TERRACE BAY—On Oct. 20, Aguasabon Chamber of Commerce held their Business Townhall Meeting. The purpose of this meeting was to get a sense from local businesses, groups and individuals, if there was enough interest in forming a Board of Directors for the Chamber.
During the Townhall Meeting local businesses were asked to share their thoughts regarding what they would expect the role of the Chamber would be. The Board of Directors would represent the business community in Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Rossport, and Jackfish.
According to Sylvie LeBlanc, the current Chamber president, in order for the Board of Directors to be possible, volunteers from local businesses need to be willing to sit on the Board.
“After much success at the Business Townhall Meeting last week, it was decided to move ahead with another reboot!” said LeBlanc. “We are actively looking for 8 energetic, supportive, and loyal individuals that would be willing to spare 5-10 hours a month to sit on the board for the Chamber. The board consists of 4 executives: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary and 4 directors,” added LeBlanc.
Those individuals and businesses who are interested are asked to contact Sylvie LeBlanc at: leblanc.sylvie@hotmail.ca
The deadline to apply is Nov. 15, at 5:00 p.m.
