Boil water advisory for Beardmore

Mayor Renald Beaulieu apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause but says the boil water advisory only affects Beardmore.

GREENSTONE – On Friday, residents of Beardmore were advised to boil their water before drinking and cooking due to a maniacal failure.

Mayor Renald Beaulieu said in an interview with CFNO, “What happened is, i guess, that something collapsed at the water treatment plant and the guys were right there, so immediately, it was called upon to have a boil advisory and it looks like we are probably going to be about mid-week before everything is ready to go.”

The duration of the advisory is not known specifically, but Beaulieu believes at this time that everything should be running normally by mid-week.

Beaulieu apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause but says the boil water advisory only affects Beardmore.

“There should be no problem there. It’s a completely separate system. So, we have five water treatment systems out in Greenstone,” said Beaulieu.

At this time, residents are asked to

  • Use bottled or boiled water for drinking, and for preparing and cooking food.
  • If bottled water is not available, bring water to a full rolling boil for one minute. After boiling, allow the water to cool before use.
  • Boil tap water even if it is filtered (for example, by a home water filter or a pitcher that filters water).
  • Do not use water from any appliance connected to your water line, such as ice and water from a refrigerator.
