DORION, Ont. – A serious collision has closed Highway 11/17 near Dorion, authorities report.
The highway is fully closed between Nipigon and Highway 587, according to Ontario 511, with traffic control in place.
The collision occurred at Dorion Loop Road, about 75 kilometres east of Thunder Bay, the government service reported.
The Ontario Provincial Police described the collision as serious in a social media post, with police and other emergency services on scene.
Shuniah Fire and Emergency Services reported on social media that fire suppression and extrication had been required on scene.
