TERRACE BAY – According to Terrace Bay OPP, on the afternoon of April 21, officers observed a vehicle excessively speeding 40 kilometres beyond the posted speed limit in the Township of Terrace Bay.

The officers initiated a traffic stop after the vehicle was spotted doing 100 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, and found that the vehicle was also required to have an ignition interlock device installed.

An ignition interlock device prevents a driver from driving a vehicle if they have alcohol in their body.

As a result, a 43-year-old from Mine Centre has been charged with stunt driving and driving without the required ignition interlock device

The accused is scheduled to appear before the court at a later date.
