Eleven new COVID-19 cases in Thunder Bay district, and nine resolved

THUNDER BAY — The current COVID-19 caseload in the Thunder Bay district rose slightly on Tuesday but remained in double digits.

The district health unit reported 11 new cases, while nine previously diagnosed cases resolved since Monday.

This brought the active case count to 65.

There was no change in hospital admissions, leaving three district residents hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19 including one in intensive care.

All but one of the new cases involve residents of Thunder Bay or the immediate surrounding area.

Three of the cases resulted from close contact and one was due to travel outside Northwestern Ontario.

Six cases remain under investigation, but one has no known exposure source.
