SCHREIBER—Students at Holy Angels Catholic School in Schreiber got the opportunity to engage in a unique activity, that normally would not be available to them.
Superior North Catholic District School Board shared that through their Experiential Project funding, the Grades 1 to Grade 8 students from Holy Angels Catholic School in Schreiber, had the opportunity to learn a new skill: sewing.
As a result of this funding and with educator initiative, the school was able to purchase sewing machines, patterns and supplies needed to complete the various projects.
Student eagerness to participate in this activity, gave them the willingness to step out of their comfort zones and try a skill that was new. They never imagined they could do this.
With the help of some educators and their passion and skills for sewing, the students were able to sew teddy bears, aprons for Mother's Day and bunnies.
School staff demonstrated how this was, truly was a real team approach. The Board hopes that they will do more projects like this in the future.
