Extreme cold warning in effect for parts of region

SUPERIOR NORTH -- Environment Canada is warning residents to bundle up.

The government weather agency states minimum temperatures between -31C and -35C and wind chill values near -40 are expected Tuesday morning.

Temperatures and wind chill values will moderate Tuesday afternoon. However, wind chill values may approach -40 again Tuesday night.

Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.

Cover up as frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frostbite and hypothermia.

Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:

  • Nakina - Aroland - Pagwa
  • Armstrong - Auden - Wabakimi Park
