Extreme cold warning is in effect

SUPERIOR NORTH -- Environment Canada is warning residents to bundle up this morning.

The government weather agency states that a period of very cold wind chills will continue Monday morning, with wind chill values between -35C and -45C.

Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.

Watch for cold related symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

Cover up as frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
