THUNDER BAY — One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle collision off Highway 527 early Wednesday morning,
The accident occurred on the side road that leads to Impala Canada's Lac des Iles palladium mine, 93 kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
OPP said police and Superior North paramedics responded to a call just before 3:30 a.m.
A mine rescue team that attempted to free the victim who was trapped in the damaged vehicle lacked the appropriate tools.
Shuniah Fire & Emergency Services were then summoned to extricate the individual, who was transported to hospital by ambulance.
