GREENSTONE—The Municipality of Greenstone invites all residents in the region to join them in cleaning up and beautifying their communities.
They recently informed each community in the surrounding region of specific “Clean-up and BBQ” days to help them do this.
On each of these scheduled days and locations, volunteers will be assigned designated areas to ensure all areas are covered.
In addition, the township wants everyone to know that businesses and services groups are encouraged to clean around their immediate areas. All supplies will be provided (gloves, garbage bags, pickers).
The following schedule of dates and locations was shared with the residents:
Geraldton and Longlac
Where: Geraldton Community Centre and Longlac Sportsplex
When: Monday, June 6
Time: 5 p.m. (BBQ Hot Dogs & Water), Clean up from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Nakina and Beardmore
Where: Nakina Community Centre and Beardmore Community Centre
When: Thursday, June 9
Time: 5 p.m. (BBQ Hot Dogs & Water), Clean up from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
As an important side note, the Township of Greenstone wishes to add that this event is separate from the Expanded Residential Curbside Collection and involves the cleaning up of debris exposed after the snow melt.
