THUNDER BAY — Slippery road conditions may be contributing to traffic disruptions on area highways.

On Wednesday morning, the Ministry of Transportation reported several incidents, including one on Highway 102 near Mud Lake Road, where a collision involving a tractor-trailer left the eastbound lane blocked.

A photo posted on the Skilled Truckers Canada Facebook page showed the tractor and most of the trailer right off the road, but part of the trailer was still on the road surface.

The ministry also reported a jackknifed tractor-trailer on Highway 17 near Upsala, resulting in the eastbound lane being blocked.

A third collision involving a transport truck  was reported Wednesday morning on Highway 11/17 in the Dorion area between the Ouimet Canyon overpass and Poplar Lane, but that was subsequently cleared.

At 11:30 a.m. the MTO reported a disabled transport truck in the vicinity of Cavers Hill near Rossport.

Traffic control was in place.

Motorists are advised to check Ontario 511 for updates.
