WHITE RIVER—If your child is experiencing fear of needles, Algoma Public Health Centre is offering some very helpful tips.

They know that for some children their fear of needles may be stopping them from getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

With a few simple strategies, you can ease your child’s fears to help make their COVID-19 vaccination experience a smooth one.

Their helpful tips include these great ideas:

  • Use distraction techniques such as deep breathing, jokes, music, reading or a new app.
  • Bring a special toy.
  • Plan a fun way to celebrate afterwards.
