WAWA—The municipality of Wawa reminded anglers of a very important regulation from Ontario Natural Resources and Forestry. They wanted all anglers to be aware of the fact that it is “illegal to dump water, soil, or other materials used, to hold your bate into Ontario waterways”.
They shared a message from Ron Arnold, a conservation officer in the province of Ontario.
Arnold reminded anglers that, “Dumping water, soil, or other materials used, to hold your bate into or within 30 meters of an Ontario water way is an offense under the Ontario fisheries regulations. To reduce the spread of invasive species and diseases please dispose of your bait and its content away from any shoreline, or in the garbage at the end of your fishing trip”.
