FORT SEVERN – Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) attended a call for service on the morning of Thursday, April 11, involving a male suspect pointing a firearm at a person.
During the investigation, an allegation was made which led to the officer obtaining a search warrant on April 12.
Upon executing the warrant, a total of three firearms were seized along with a high-capacity magazine and ammunition.
One of these firearms is prohibited, according to NAPS.
As a result, a 32-year-old from Fort Severn First Nation is charged with assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, and possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition.
The accused appeared for bail court on Friday, April 12 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date of Tuesday, April 16.
