One arrested after police respond to assault in Wawa

WAWA — A 32-year-old from Timmins faces several charges after an incident involving a motor vehicle in Wawa.

Provincial police said officers responded to reports of an assault that took place on Churchill Avenue on Sunday night.

Police arrested one person.

The accused is charged with assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, two counts of impaired operation, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, and failure to stop after an accident.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Wawa court in July.
