SCHREIBER, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police have charged a motorist with stunt driving after a weekend incident in the Schreiber area.
An OPP radar unit clocked the vehicle travelling at 154 kilometres an hour in a posted 70 km/h zone.
"Over double the speed limit in dense fog through a small community is a recipe for disaster. Please slow down!" said a message posted on the OPP Northwest Region Twitter account.
In addition to the stunt driving charge, the motorist's driving privileges were automatically suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
Drivers who are convicted of stunt driving will get 6 demerit points, face a fine of $2,000 to $10,000 dollars, and lose their licence for a minimum of one year.
