Police seize over $100k in drugs at Schreiber home

Police seized over 1,200 grams of what they believe to be cocaine with an estimated street value of $126,200. 

SCHREIBER — Multiple drug trafficking charges were recently laid in Schreiber. 

Members of OPP organized crime units in Schreiber and Nipigon, along with help from the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service's Intelligence Unit, conducted a three-month investigation called "Project Plateau."

The multipoint investigation focused on drug trafficking in Schreiber and Terrace Bay. 

Investigators and the OPP Northwest K9 unit executed a search warrant at a home on Centennial Drive in Schreiber between April 30 and May 1. 

A 54-year-old Schreiber man is facing multiple drug trafficking and related charges. 

Police seized what they believe is cocaine, proceeds of crime valued at over $5,000, as well as a firearm. 

The estimated street value of the over 1,200 grams of drugs is estimated by police to be at $126,200. 

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday.
