Region Elementary schools writing Grade 3 and 6 EQAO Assessment

SCHREIBER—Grade 3 and 6 students, with Superior Greenstone District School Board will be completing the EQAO assessment on May 24, 25, and 26, 2022.

The assessment has been updated for students and will now be completed on their laptops. Parents, guardians and caregivers have been informed about the time periods during which students will be writing, and should be aware that these writing time periods will be much shorter. Exceptions however, for those students that need more time will be considered.

The modules according to, Superior Greenstone District School Boards, “are engaging”. These assessments measure reading, writing, and mathematics skills that students are expected to have learned by the end of Grade 3 and Grade 6.

EQAO assessment provides information about the Ontario Education System that helps provide information that helps student learning.

The assessments this year are scheduled by the province to take place between May 4 to June 24 with each school in the Province of Ontario being given the autonomy to choose when these assessments are best to take place within their own individual school.

Schreiber Public School has chosen May 24, 25 and 26 for these assessments to take place for their Grade 3 and Grade 6 students.

According to EQAO, these assessments, “Have been modernized to allow for an engaging and student focused experience.” The test is timed and is scheduled to take approximately 2.5 hours to complete.

Individual student reports detailing the success level of each student will be mailed out to the home Fall 2022.
