HORNEPAYNE—With so many life-changing events necessary during the past few years because of the global pandemic, many municipalities are preparing for special Canada Day celebrations. The Township of Hornepayne, is excited about being able to celebrate Canada Day with a planned spectacular fireworks display.
In a recent announcement sharing their optimism and excitement about planning for this day, the municipality offered places where local residents can purchase fireworks and also consider donating some to the municipality for their July 1 celebration.
They outlined the process that the municipality will follow to accommodate community members willing to purchase and donate fireworks.
Several locations were listed where residents could purchase fireworks, at a discount, that they wish to donate to the municipality. For example, Home Hardware will offer fireworks at a 45 per cent discount and Hornepayne Service Centre ESSO, will offer a 15 per cent discount.
In addition, G & L Variety will offer a discount at point of purchase and Cindy’s This & That will offer a 20 per cent discount.
Once the fireworks have been purchased, at the locations that the municipality has listed, they will receive the discount indicated, and the fireworks will be held by the vendor. The municipality fire department will pick up all fireworks prior to the event.
Should residents choose to do so, they can drop off their firework's donation at the town hall during regular business hours on Monday through Friday; from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
