THUNDER BAY: Whitewater Golf Course was ready to swing into their Ronald McDonald House Charity golf tournament, on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022.
Chris Holland, chairperson Ronald McDonald House golf tournament was pleased to announce that the tournament raised $58,000, describing it as a true community spirit event. “Despite the heavy rain cutting the gold short, the community spirit continued for the balance of the day,” dated Holland.
With this representing the 22nd year, the tournament funds raised will be shared by the Toronto and London Houses.
“Once again, the community of Thunder Bay came through and made our charity tournament a success. This could only happen with the support of our continuing sponsorship, volunteers and players, who year after year step up to support this worthy cause” stated Chris Holland, Tournament Chairperson. “Our committee is looking forward to immediately start the planning for next year” continued Holland.
His announcement described how so many Northwestern Ontario families have used the services of the Toronto and London facilities and as a result of 22 years of the tournament’s continued efforts, donations have exceeded $1.2 million.
Ronald McDonald House programs offers a “home away from home” that provides comfort, support and resources to families who have to travel far from home to provide the medical care that their child needs.
