Rural Education and Mental Health Collective offers access to helpful resources

MARATHON — Affirming that mental health is everyone’s business and that a parent, guardian, caregiver or family member has a particularly special role to play in supporting their child and youth mental health, Superior-Greenstone District School Board is offering some helpful resources.

They informed their school community that the Rural Education and Mental Health Collective, which is a team that represents Superior North Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales, Superior-Greenstone District School Board, North of Superior Counselling Programs, Dilico Children’s Mental Health and Addictions Services, Mental Health and Addictions Nurses and Children’s Aid Society has co-created a resource.

Their message was that: “No matter which school you attend or which service you access, that we are all here as a region to support children and families”.

SGDSB posted several mental health resources for parents that list a collection of websites, and phone numbers, that they can access in order to learn more of how they can help their child, and to know what to do.

They also offered more support by adding useful apps that a parent/guardian may want to acquire, and Youtube videos.
