WAWA—The Municipality of Wawa informed residents that the Screen For Life Coach will be visiting their community in May.
The coach will be parked in Wawa at the Michipicoten Community Centre from May 24 to May 26, 2022 and then again from May 30, to June 3. The Coach offers breast, cervical an colon cancer screening.
Residents wishing to be screened, are asked to call (807)-684-7777, to book their cancer screening appointment.
The Municipality offered specific guidelines for this screening. The Coach offers:
- Breast screening for women 50-74 years of age and is recommended every 2 years.
- Cervical screening for individuals who are 25 to 69 years of age and is recommended every 3 years.
- Colon cancer screening for individuals 50 to 74 years of age who do not have a family history of colon cancer and is recommended every 2 years.
These screening tests, help save lives. Residents are encouraged to mark these dates and book their screening appointments soon.
