Screen for Life Coach visits Nipigon and surrounding region in September

NIPIGON—The Nipigon District Health Team, (NDHT) in partnership with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TDHU) will be visiting their area in September.

Mobile screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer will be available.

Women 50 to 74 years of age should have a mammogram every two years to screen for breast cancer.

Individuals who are 25 to 69 years of age and who have been sexually active should have a cervical cancer screening test done every three years.

Individuals 50 to 74 years of age who do not have a family history of colon cancer should complete a FIT kit every two years to screen for colon cancer.

The schedule for the Screen for Life Coach visiting the region is as follows:

  • Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinanbek (Rocky Bay) First Nation- Tuesday, September 19, 2022.
  • Beardmore Regional Health Centre-Wednesday, Sept. 14,2022.
  • Nipigon District Memorial Hospital- Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 and Monday, Sept. 19, 2022.
  • Lake Helen First Nation-Red Rock Indian Band-Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022.
  • Red Rock (Recreation Centre)- Wednesday, Sept. 21 and Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022.
