WAWA: The Municipality of Wawa is hosting a Senior Expo and Active Living Fair meant to offer seniors in the region a variety of inform and exhibits by local organizations and businesses.
This Fair is being hosted by the Wawa Goose Seniors’ Centre and the Wawa Seniors at Risk Committee, in partnership with the Older Adults Centres’ Association of Ontario.
The Expo will be located at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre and is free to everyone wishing to attend. Exhibits include:
- Resources and publications
- Active living demonstrations with Urban Poling and Functional Fit
- Health Clinics-Covid vaccine-Algoma Public Health; Blood pressure-Wawa Family Team; Blood Pressure-North Algoma Diabetes Education
- Crime Stoppers-Scams and Fraud
- MTO-Driving
- Transportation-Wawa Hawk Junction
The day is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 14 and will run from 10:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. Seniors will also be provided with lunch catered by Judy Page and door prizes. Funding for this Expo and Fair is provided by the government of Ontario.
