Single-vehicle collision leads to impaired driving charges

NIPIGON — A 67-year-old from northeastern Ontario faces impaired driving charges after police responded to a single-vehicle crash near Nipigon.

Provincial police said officers responded to the incident on Highway 11, about 10 kilometres north of Nipigon, on Saturday evening.

The incident did not result in any injuries, police said.

The accused is charged with two counts related to impaired driving, and one count of having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.

The accused received a 90-day driver's licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused is scheduled to appear in a Nipigon court in August.
