WAWA -- A snow squall warning is in effect for Wawa - Pukaskwa area Thursday morning.
The government weather agency says snow squalls off Lake Superior, with additional snowfall amounts of five to 10 centimetres are possible.
Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate. Peak snowfall rates of two to five centimetres in an hour are likely in the strongest snow squalls.
Wind gusts up to 60 kilometres an hour causing very low visibilities at times in blowing snow.
The snow squalls will shift south of the area later this morning.
