Environment Canada is warning of potentially treacherous conditions for an area of the region.

A snow squall watch was issued for the Wawa and White River areas on Friday, warning of heavy snow late in the night and through Saturday.

Environment Canada is forecasting heavy snow with accumulations between 20 and 30 centimetres, along with reduced visibility and slippery surfaces.

The agency is cautioning that travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.
