Special weather statement has been issued for parts of the region

SUPERIOR NORTH -- Environment Canada warns of significant snowfall possible Wednesday and Thursday.

The government weather agency says snow will move into the area Wednesday morning.

Total snowfall amounts of up to 10 centimetres are possible by Wednesday evening. Snow will become light Wednesday night before getting heavier again overnight Thursday morning. 

Snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 centimetres on Thursday are possible before snow tapers off on Thursday afternoon from west to east. 

Considerable uncertainty remains regarding the total amount of snowfall.
