MARATHON — A British Columbia resident was lucky to get away with just losing driving privileges after an incident on Highway 17.
According to the OPP, an officer stopped the person after radar caught the vehicle travelling at 155 km/h late Monday night in the last minutes of the OPP's Canada Day traffic safety campaign.
A charge of stunt driving results in the immediate suspension of a driver's licence and the impounding of the vehicle.
But OPP said that in this instance the outcome could have been much worse.
In a social media post, they said the arresting officer observed the vehicle nearly collide with a moose while being driven at a high speed.
"This could have ended really poorly for this driver," OPP stated.
