Terrace Bay Curling club restarting its curling leagues

TERRACE BAY — Terrace Bay residents were made aware of their township’s curling club restarting its season.

League play can restart for women, Tuesday, Feb. 1 while mixed league will start on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022.

Curlers are told that lounge capacity will be set at 67 persons (50 per cent of the 135 room’s capacity limit). Curling club ice surface will be allowed to have two teams per sheet. As well, curlers will not be required to wear masks while on the curling ice actively curling, or when seated in the lounge for the purpose of enjoying food or drink.

During all other times, curlers will be required to wear masks on the curling ice including when they are seated on the benches in the curling rink.

Participants are reminded that Proof of Vaccination is still in effect. If curlers have been screened prior for proof of vaccination there will be no further checks required. Self-assessment screening questions/sign-ins are still part of the curling club’s process when entering the Curling Club.

As the township is aware that there are positive COVID cases in the area, they ask that curlers follow the guidelines and take whatever additional precautions are needed to feel most comfortable.

They recognize that they all want to enjoy curling through to the end of the season safely without any outbreaks or lockdowns.  They want everyone to go out and enjoy themselves safely and have some fun.
