Terrace Bay Sports Hall of Fame inductees to be honoured

TERRACE BAY—Residents of Terrace Bay can now look forward to attending the 2019-2022 Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony honouring 13 inductees.

The ceremony is set for Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022 at the Michael King Hall.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with the ceremony beginning at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited, as the Township is pleased to finally introduce and honour the 2019-2022 Sports Hall of Fame inductees.

That evening these 13 athletes will be recognized for their outstanding contribution and achievements in sports. The Sports Hall of Fame will provide a permanent and public display of sport achievement by these athletes, teams, and builders promoting Terrace Bay’s sporting history.

Each inductee will receive a plaque which contains a picture of the individual, team, or builder along with a short biography. This plaque will then be displayed at a designated area chosen by the Sports Hall of Fame at the Terrace Bay Community Centre.

The 2019 to 2022 Sports Wall of Fame Inductees are:

ATHLETE:

Billie Bagdon – Curling

Bob Bagdon – Curling

Gord Phillips – Hockey

Rick Pollard – Hockey

ATHLETE/BUILDER:

Jim Pope – Tae Kwon Do

BUILDER:

Art Beaulieu – Badminton

William Borsum – Baseball,Softball, Bowling, Basketball, Hockey, Badminton

Marnie & Jim Cumming – Figure Skating

Jim Figliomeni – Hockey
