HEARST— A Notice of Nomination for Office for the Oct. 24, 2022 Municipal and School Board Election's was announced by the Township of Hearst.
Details regarding this process were very specific, as they indicated that nominations must be made on prescribed nomination paper available at the municipal Clerk Office. Furthermore, they must be filled either in person or by an agent, with the Clerk/Returning Officer; between May 2, 2022 and Aug. 18, 2022, at 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, nomination day, 9 a.m. -2 p.m.
The township also indicated that nomination filing fees for Head of Council is $200, while for all other offices the filing fee is $100.
For School Board Trustees, nominations are according to geographic area served by the school board. Geographic areas include: Conseil Scolaire Catholique Du District des Grandes Rivieres; Conseil Public Du Nord-Est de L’Ontario; District School Board Ontario North East and Northeastern Catholic District School Board.
