Township of Hornepayne lifts boil water advisory

HORNEPAYNE — The Township of Hornepayne announced on Friday, April 22, 2022 that the boil water advisory put in place recently for Front Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue, has been lifted.

The Township along with Porcupine Health Unit had placed residents in this area, on a boil water advisory due to a water main break.

The Ontario Clean Water Agency and the Township of Hornepayne hired an outside contractor to begin repairs on the water distribution system on Third Street, which began on April 19.

It was said to have taken up to eight hours to complete the needed repairs and as a result of having done so, residents in that area no longer are required to boil water before use.
