Township of Nipigon to hold test of their CodeRED community notification system

NIPIGON -- Nipigon will be testing its emergency notification system this week.

The Township of Nipigon will be testing its emergency notification system on Thursday, Feb. 11, in order to validate telephone numbers in the database.

City officials posted important information for all of its residents to be aware of regarding how this system works.

They highlighted three key things. They are: "If you receive a call from (866) 419-5000, this is the CodeRED emergency call, and no action is required. This process helps us continually improve the system. Visit our website at https://www.nipigon.netcodered to add or update your contact information."

By using the CodeRED system, Township officials can reach residents and personnel and therefore are able to send telephone calls, text messages, emails and social media posts to inform residents and better protect life and property.

For further information, residents can contact Linda Berube at lindalberube@nipigon.net or call (807)-887-3135, ext.224.
