Township of Red Rock wants nominations for senior citizens of the year

RED ROCK — The Township of Red Rock is seeking nominations for the Province of Ontario’s Senior of the Year Award. Deadline for these nominations is Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 12 p.m.

Eligible nominees must meet specific guidelines. These are comprised of:

  • Having contributed to the community after the age of 65.
  • Having made their community a better place to live.
  • Being a current resident of Red Rock.

The Township explained that seniors who quality for this award, may have contributed to many different fields including: arts, literature, community service, volunteering, education, environment, fitness and humanitarian activities. Nominees cannot be anyone who currently holds political office.

When submitting the nomination, the resident must explain how the nominee has shown dedication to the community of Red Rock, or has made a positive impact within the community.

As further clarification, information offered must also indicate the name and contact information of the person making the nomination. In addition, the name of the person being nominated, the best way for them to be contacted, and a summary of the nominee’s contributions to their community, should be provided.

Nominations are to be emailed to Mark Figliomeni, CAO/Clerk at: cao@redrocktownship.com.  They can be delivered to the Municipal Office in person, if so desired.
