THUNDER BAY – A week from Friday, testing requirements for fully vaccinated travellers will be lifted at the Canadian border.
However, the Canada Border Services Agency has issued a reminder that all travellers, regardless of their vaccination status, will still be required to submit their mandatory information, including proof of vaccination, on the ArriveCAN app or website.
Failure to do so could result in having to do a test on arrival and being forced to quarantine for 14 days, regardless of a person’s vaccination status.
Partially or non-vaccinated travellers, five and older, must continue to provide proof of an accepted pre-entry COVID-19 test results, which include a negative antigen test administered or observed by an accredited lab no more than a day before entering the country or their initial scheduled flight departure time or a negative molecular test taken no more than 72 hours before their flight time or arrival at the land or marine port of entry.
A previous positive molecular test, taken at least 10 calendar days and no more than 180 calendar days before arriving at the border or before their initially scheduled flight is also acceptable.
