TERRACE BAY—The spring like weather is making it possible for dog owners to take their pets out for a walk along city beaches.
Terrace Bay pet owners were given a gentle reminder to keep local beaches clean. Keep pets on a leash and pick up after them. The municipality provides free “doggie waste” bags and trash cans are available.
General Beach and Boardwalk rules were listed according to city Bylaw 30-2005:
- Dogs are to be under control of their handlers at all times when on the beach.
- Dogs must be leashed when on the boardwalk.
Dog handlers are responsible for collecting and removing their dog’s waste.
Keeping these simple rules in mind will help make walking your favourite four-legged friend on beaches that are clean, more common.
