White River winter carnival winners show great artistic talent

WHITE RIVER—The municipality of White River in partnership with the Northern Neighbours Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (NNNPLC) coordinated their winter carnival recently.

The event featured a snow sculpture contest, with an animal theme. Their aim was to organize an event that would promote physical activity, family/friend togetherness, and team work, while at the same time encourage the inner-child in everyone.

The contest ran during the March Break, March 14-19, 2022, and it hoped to increase “the likelihood of family teams”, who would come together to build a snow sculpture and share unique ideas and creativity. Judging took place March 20, 2022 and here are their declared winners.

First place went to Isabel Chicoine, second place went to Kristie Kolbey and the third place winner was Nicole Simpson.

The staff of NNNPLC not only chose to build their own snow sculpture “Stumpy the Turtle”, they had “Stumpy beckon to the residents to join in the frivolity”, show their creativity, and maybe win a prize. Their Winter Carnival not only served as a great celebration over the March Break, but it was also very successful in bringing the community together to spread a sense of neighbourly fun.
