Winter storm warning in effect for parts of the region

SUPERIOR NORTH -- A winter storm warning is in effect Tuesday night for parts of the region.

The government weather agency states an Alberta Clipper is moving through northern Ontario and will cause hazardous travel conditions to areas along the north shore of Lake Superior Tuesday evening.

Snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 centimetres if expected along with strong southerly winds gusting up to 60 kilometres creating low visibilities. 

Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour are possible.

The snowfall will begin Tuesday evening and lasting through early Wednesday morning.

  • Marathon - Schreiber
  • Nipigon - Rossport
  • Wawa - Pukaskwa Park
  • White River - Dubreuilville
