Wesdome Gold Mines has had over 30 years of continuous gold mining operations in Canada. The Company is 100% Canadian focused with a pipeline of projects in various stages of development. The Company’s strategy is to build Canada’s next intermediate gold producer, producing 200,000+ ounces from two mines in Ontario and Quebec. The Eagle River Complex in Wawa, Ontario is currently producing gold the Eagle River Underground Mine. Wesdome is actively exploring its brownfields asset, the Kiena Complex in Val d’Or, Quebec. The Kiena Complex is a fully permitted former mine with a 930-metre shaft and 2,000 tonne-per-day mill. The Company trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol “WDO”.
The Chef/Cook will report to Camp Services Supervisor and Lead Cook, the successful candidate will be part of the Kitchen Department and must be reliable. Candidate is expected to work well as a member of a team to ensure a safe and productive workplace.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include, but is not limited to:
Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other Government Standards and regulations
Follow Wesdome safety policies, procedures, practices, and standards
Prepare and provide nutritional meals as per the daily menu plan
Shared duties of daily salads, homemade desserts, and sandwiches
A weekly completion of inventory and grocery order
A daily rotation of products (cooler, freezer, and pantry)
Daily documentation of the prepared main, meat temperatures, and temperatures of all coolers and freezers
Daily and weekly documentations of equipment cleaning
Red seal chef or 5 years of cooking experience
Experienced in cooking for 100 or more people
Experience in Baking
Safe Food Handling Certificate
Good communicational skills
Able to work well with team members and live in a camp setting
Valid (G) Driver’s License
The selected individual will be located at the Wesdome Eagle River Complex (see location in Company Information). This is a remote camp environment that includes room and board, and the schedule will align accordingly.
Working schedule is 7 days in and 7 days off
