Job Title: Neighbourhood Development Supervisor
Division: Operations

The District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board is searching for a Neighbourhood Development Supervisor in our Operations division to join our team based in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Neighbourhood Development Supervisor, under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, supervises, coordinates, and leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy to revitalize social housing neighbourhoods through cross-sector collaboration, resident empowerment, and data-informed planning. The role serves as a system-level lead in developing collaborative partnerships between public agencies, nonprofits, and residents to foster equitable and sustainable neighborhood transformation.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

Liaise with a cross-functional team with the vision of transforming underserved neighbourhoods into inclusive and resilient communities through coordinated investment in housing, economic opportunity, social services, and resident leadership;
Lead and develop collaborative partnerships between public agencies, nonprofits, residents, and private partners to foster equitable and sustainable neighborhood transformation;
Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive strategy to revitalize social housing neighbourhoods through cross-sector collaboration, resident empowerment, and data-informed planning;
Develop and implement social risk intervention and prevention strategies across the community, working with various community partners and agencies;
Conduct research, compile data and track social development benchmarks and outcomes;
Ensure policies and procedures are accurately followed, as well as adherence to all professional and Ministry regulations and requirements;
Adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, local policies and practices relating to a healthy workplace.
The successful candidate will have experience in building partnerships and collaborative programs, demonstrate strong facilitation and community organizing skills, and possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. They will bring superior analytical and communication skills, a solid understanding of community development within the social services sector, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and 365.

Additional qualifications for this position include:

A two (2) year Community College Diploma in Social Services or a related discipline;
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Social Services;
A valid Ontario Driver’s license and access to a reliable motor vehicle;
The ability to communicate in both official languages is considered an asset;
