20-year-old charged with stunt driving on Highway 11

Male charged with driving a motor vehicle at an Excessive Speed and Stunt Driving
OPP

Geraldton – A 20-year-old man from Mississauga has been charged with stunt driving after being caught excessively speeding in Greenstone.

At approximately 7:09 p.m. on Friday, an officer had observed a vehicle allegedly travelling westbound at a speed of 153 km/h in a 90 km/h zone, 63 km/h over the posted speed limit and dispatched a unit on general patrol.

Further investigation revealed that the same license plate was involved in a prior traffic complaint in Southern Ontario, just four days earlier, for travelling at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic, according to a media release issued by police.

As a result, the driver has been charged with one count of stunt driving for excessive speed.

The individual received a 30-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle has been impounded for 14 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 8, 2025.
