LONGLAC—The Township of Longlac is proud to announce this year’s 2022 Longlac Summerfest.
This family-oriented event is scheduled to run from July 14, until July 17, 2022. The event promises to be a weekend long family event that has something for everyone to enjoy. Most events will take place at the Longlac Arena.
The Summerfest will feature both a competitive and a recreation slow-pitch tournament, with the competitive tournament running July 15 to July 17. The recreation slow pitch tournament will run from July 14 to July 17.
Anyone wishing to participate in either one of these slow-pitch tournaments must register before July 10, 2022.
In addition, the week-end event will have a “Kid’s Obstacle” course for kids ages six to thirteen. The venue for this is the Longlac Arena, and will be held on July 16, from 1-3:00 p.m.
The event truly has something for everyone, with their, world famous Beef on a Bun, sponsored by the Longlac Historical Society and the Longlac curling club.
Festivities will kick off with the Summerfest parade, which will start from the arena at 11 a.m. with prizes for the top three floats.
On Saturday, July 16, the community is asked to gather at Lakeside Corner, for the Summerfest fireworks.
On Sunday, July 17, at 12:30 p.m., Presentation of the Jess St. Pierre volunteer of the year award and Citizen of the year award at the Lakeside Center.
Other planned activities feature:
- Wednesday night, July 14, Norwest Community Health Centre, family dance (weather permitting) 6:30-8:00 p.m.
- Spaghetti Supper, St. Jean the Baptist Church, 5:00p.m.
- Summerfest show and shine, July 16, at Lakeside Centre 12p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Longlac Summerfest parade, meeting place is the arena at 10:30 a.m. with parade starting at 11:00 a.m.
- Longlac Public Library open house, July 14, 4-6:00 p.m.
- World Famous Beef on a Bun at Lakeside Center
