SUPERIOR NORTH - Municipal elections will take place on Oct. 24 this year and the nomination deadline closed at 2 p.m. on Friday and clerks in each municipality certified the nominees on Monday beginning the race.
Three of mayoral candidates in the region are running unopposed and were acclaimed once their nomination was certified, while the townships of Manitouwadge, Schreiber, Terrace Bay, and Nipigon, which was the first municipality to certify its candidates, will see their candidates compete for mayoral seats.
Below is the list of candidates for municipalities in the region.
Town of Marathon:
