61-year-old from Swastika charged with impaired driving

Schreiber Ontario OPP has arrested and charged one individual with impaired driving.

SCHREIBER – According to OPP Northwest Region, on the evening of June 4 officers with the Schreiber OPP Detachment stopped a motor vehicle for speeding in a reduced 70-kilometre-per-hour zone on Highway 17 near the Town of Rossport.

Upon administering a screening test on the driver, the officers found the driver was impaired by alcohol.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Nipigon OPP Detachment where officers determined that the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

As a result, a 61-year-old from Swastika, Ont. has been arrested and charged with impaired driving.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court at a later date.
