WAWA — A 69-year-old faces multiple charges after police responded to a domestic dispute earlier this week.

Provincial police were called to Toronto Avenue in Wawa just before 1 a.m. Monday, with the North East Region emergency response team, OPP tactics and rescue unit, and crisis negotiators involved in the response.

The accused is charged with aggravated spousal assault, pointing a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police said the accused, who is not being publicly named due to the domestic nature of the incident to protect the identity of the victim, has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Wawa court in June.
