TERRACE BAY—The Municipality of Terrace Bay initiated a program to help enhance community parks and open spaces, while at the same time giving its residents a means of commemorating a friend, family member, or special event.
It announced April 25, that it has developed the Friends of Terrace Bay Parks-Adopt a Bench or Picnic Table Program. Individuals, families, groups and organizations can purchase a bench or picnic table, dedicate it to a friend, family member, or special event and at the same time, enhance a local park or open space area.
According to the township, the bench and picnic table is manufactured from 100 per cent recyclable plastic. Several options are available to interested residents. The 10-year contract features several components, including:
- Refurbishment and maintenance of the park bench or picnic table, for a period of 10 years.
- A personalized engraved plaque, to be mounted on the bench and top of picnic.
