Baby food recalled for possible bacteria

Possible bacteria linked to certain baby food items.

THUNDER BAY — Health Canada is recalling one of Enfamil's baby food products that could be contaminated with a type of bacteria.

Certain batches of Enfamil's infant formula Nutramigen A+ LGG Hypoallergenic could be contaminated with Cronobacter sakazakii, a bacteria that, while rare, could lead to fatal infections, especially in newborns.

Health Canada's release states the product should not be used or sold because of the risk.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is investigating if other products are affected.

Information on the recall is available here
