MARATHON — With the holiday season quickly approaching, the Marathon Public Library is launching a new fundraiser.
The Marathon Public Library has partnered up with the Sleeping Giant Brewing Company in Thunder Bay, with a fundraiser luanched this week, to help raise money for the library and the many programs that it runs.
Chantelle Gingras, the CEO and head librarian, thought this fundraiser would be a unique way to reach new people.
Gingras said people can participate by going to the library's Facebook page, where a link can be found.
“How it works is that for each order placed though the library’s link, we get 15 per cent of the sales,” said Gingras. “People can go to this link and order their beer directly from there.”
Thunder Bay residents who participate can pick up their beer orders directly from the brewery. But, for those living elsewhere, their order can be picked up at Marathon’s Royal Legion for a delivery fee of $5. Those who are ordering from the Superior North region will have their orders delivered directly to their home for a $20 delivery fee.
Gingras said the fundraiser will go the entire month of November and will help fund the needed equipment, and the many initiatives and programs that the library runs, throughout the year.
